The worst fever of my life.

I got a bus out of San Pedro to Santiago Chile…a 23 hour bus ride.  I started to feel a little weird the night before traveling and even worse about 10 the next morning on the bus….that’s when it started.  Little did i know i was in for the worst fever of my life.  I am just getting better today.  I don’t know the temp on the bus without a thermometer…wish i did, maybe then i’d tried to find some ice or somthing.  So I get here in Santiago and take a cab to my Hostal and they’re full so i wait for a couple hours on the couch before i pass out.  they wake me to take me to my smokers room with a funny smell that i still can’t stand.  Its all a blur.  i know is that my temp has been 103 on average the whole bus ride, the first day here i couldn’t get out of bed only to get drugs and a thermometer.  I was right about my temp being so high….i could barely walk, write…slurred speech the whole 9.  That night i woke up at 2:30 with a temp of 104 and decided another cold shower was a joke so i went to the clinic where they gave me a physical and took my temp all i wanted was a shot of something so they finally gave me one and the i started freaking out…i couldn’t sit still my body was doing something horrible and if i sat up and hunched over my head would shake like i was having some seizure…they’re telling me to relax….um aren’t you the doctors? isn’t this a sign of something serious?  well they gave me some kind of pill under my tounge to chill me out.  When i woke up i went back to the hostal and passed out again but i don’t remember it.  So after 3 nights in an overpriced hotel in Santiago with the worst fever of my life i’m just getting better.  Really don’t want to stay another night but i still can’t walk that well….little dizzy and my balance sucks.

the good news is ….next stop Bariloche…where i’ve been trying to get to for the past couple weeks!

Go Fever!
