almost 3 months...

5 lbs less and naturally detoxed!

Hello All!

Still here in Huaraz.  Mountains, climbing, trekking and rain everyday around 4:00, you know, typical mountain weather! I’m at a really cool coffee shop with awesome views, music and western food.  I bought a bus ticket to leave yesterday and the couple locals that I’ve been hanging out with convinced me to stay.  Cesar is one of the guys and he said I could stay at his place…the room isn’t the best but it’s 5 soles a night, it’s about 3 soles to the dollar so do the math! The average hostel here a night is 25 soles. I could get a place to live here…. about $125.00 a month!
Jamie and I went climbing today about 40 minutes out of town and a mile walk once we got there.  After climbing we went to some hot springs….or what just looks like a dirty pool but it’s warm and is suppose to be good for you.  They also have caves that are like natural saunas and people go there for medicinal purposes aside from relaxing.  The springs are tucked away in a small local area where I didn’t see any gringos.  It’s nice to know some locals and get special treatment especially since my Spanish blows.  I think I’m going to take some classes here before I go to Cusco (Machu Picchu) where I was originally going to do a home stay and learn Spanish.  I was also planning on only spending a week up here and it will probably turn into a month!  It’s a good opportunity to really see the whole area and get a through feel for the town while taking tons of pictures.  I’m doing a 4-pitch climb in a couple days with Cesar, Jamie and Magdalay.  Jamie say’s I’ll learn a lot so I’m excited about it.

I’ve uploaded a bunch of pictures that are rough edits because if I worked on all of them you wouldn’t see any until I got back!  (the next window has the links*)

Hope everyone is well and I miss you all.
